A bipartite sequence element associated with matrix/scaffold attachment regions.

We have identified a MAR/SAR recognition signature (MRS) which is common to a large group of matrix and scaffold attachment regions. The MRS is composed of two degenerate sequences (AATAAYAA and AWWRTAANNWWGNNNC) within close proximity. Analysis of >300 kb of genomic sequence from a variety of eukaryotic organisms shows that the MRS faithfully predicts 80% of MARs and SARs. In each case where w...

Factors and Interventions Associated with Parental Attachment during Pregnancy in Iran: A Systematic Review

Introduction: Parents' attachment to the child is an intimate, warm and continuous relationship which is the basis of the natural development of the child. Attachment starts long before birth, and is affected by a variety of factors that are not definitively recognized. Also, several interventions have been proposed for improving it that their effectiveness has not yet been determined. Given the...

A Bipartite Graph with Non-Unimodal Independent Set Sequence

We show that the independent set sequence of a bipartite graph need not be unimodal.

The transcription factor LF-A1 interacts with a bipartite recognition sequence in the promoter regions of several liver-specific genes.

The transcription factors LF-A1 and LF-B1 are required for the cell-specific expression of the human alpha 1-antitrypsin gene in hepatocytes. We report here the purification and preliminary characterization of LF-A1. This protein, purified to homogeneity from calf liver nuclei by site-specific DNA affinity chromatography and reverse-phase HPLC, has a molecular mass of 40 kDa. Binding sites of L...

Bipartite clavicular attachment of the sternocleidomastoid muscle: a case report

Morphological variations of the sternocleidomastoid (SCM) muscle assume relevance during attempted surgical interventions in the cervical region. The present study reports bipartite clavicular attachment of the SCM in the neck of an adult male cadaver during performance of a routine anatomy demonstration. The anomaly was unilaterally observed on the left side of the neck. The clavicular head of...
